Pitsford Water Nature Reserve - 30 June 2014

Permit from Fishing Lodge.  This time I walked clockwise, with Gordon and Maureen - it's about 7 miles.  Fine day, pretty warm.  We took our time.

There are masses of blue damselflies and lots of little brown butterflies in the meadow sections. I saw one red admiral.

Several lapwings were at the waterside on the causeway, but flew off as we walked by - I think it was camera shutter noise!  Good to see so many together, and so close.

The walk is quite a different experience from the normal Pitsford Water circuit, but we still indulged in an ice cream before leaving.
