Pembrokeshire Coast Path (May 31st)

Clouds have appeared, as forecast…. then cleared. Over to Esther’s holiday spot in St David’s.  Then walked over to Pencarnan, and with Brian, Leonie, Eilidh and Aneurin walked back to St David’s via the coast path.

Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to St David´s Head

 Sunday June 4th, with Harry.

Blazing sunshine again.

Walk from Waun Beddau to St David’s Head via coast path, return via inland paths, much like 4 years ago, past Treleidr where we stayed then.  10.33 miles. almost 900 feet of ups and downs.

Two coffee and sandwich stops, - plus cranberries and chocolate sardines! I can feel my legs now.

Pembrokeshire - St Davids Head

Saturday 27th July, with Harry.  Almost 8 miles, and 630 feet of ups and downs. Everyone else had left, but we had another day. We walked to St Davids Head along the Coast Path and back via inland paths. Perfect weather.

We set off after lunch, took the path from the cottage to the Coast path and turned left to head west. Stunning scenery, lots of flowers and butterflies. Steep cliffs and blue sea.

July seems a little early for swallows to be gathering...

The return trip needed more careful map reading.

The whole walk taken at a leisurely pace took us a bit over four hours.

Pembrokeshire - a short bike ride and Carn Penberry.

After picking up Eilidh from Baden-Baden and returning from our European trip, we had a few days at home before meeting the rest of the family near St Davids in Pembrokeshire. Most of the week was spent socialising, with a huge family meal at the Cwtch in St Davids one evening, and various social meals with some or all of them during the rest of the week.
Some of the teenagers went coasteering, the younger ones went horse-riding at Nolton Stables and along the beach, and a lot of time was spent in or near the sea. Wetsuits, dinghies and bodyboards all played their part. 

Most of the family were on the camp site at Pencarnan.  Esther and family were at Ynys Barry Cottages near Porthgain, and we were a short distance away at a cottage on Treleidr farm. 

We had a short bike ride to Esther's cottage, and met some of the others for time on the beach.
5.5 miles each way, along a pretty quiet road.


One afternoon we climbed Carn Penberry, a bit of an ordeal with gorse and uneven paths.
