Rudyard Lake - 2nd October 2025

2nd October 2025.

A murky start to the day…

After coffee, we headed over to Rudyard Lake to begin walking just before quarter past 12. We parked at the dam end, by the cafe.

We walked round clockwise.

Water levels are low, there are lots of for sale signs and some building work going on.

The ‘folly’ was one place. It has been fenced off and is covered in scaffolding. A future ‘wedding venue’? And the track to it has been surfaced with hard core. We shall watch with interest…

Trees are changing colour. There are blue tits and great tits on the feeder by the bridge.

Rudyard lake or circus … A unicyclist stopped for a break.

We have a chat - He’s been riding the machine for 25 years “on and off” (ha, ha!) having taken about three months to learn. We saw him later changing a puncture.

We noticed the statue of a tightrope walker near the cafe car -ark today: https://www.rudyardlake.com/carlos-trower-african-blondin/

When we reached the cafe we had soup and bread, before returning to Ridgehead.
