Leicestershire - not the first place you think of when planning some decent walks. And yet . . .
There's Charnwood forest with its woods, rocky outcrops and reservoirs - and Bradgate Park just on the outskirts of the city.
The Leicestershire Round is a well marked 100 mile walk around the county. It passes through some lovely scenery, attractive villages and historical sites.
North-east Leicestershire offers rolling hills and farmland, and can feel remarkably remote.
You can search the blog for Leicestershire in general
I have a separate blog for the Leicestershire Round and walks which cover part of it.

Great blog! Will definitely attempt some of the walks described. Thank you for sharing.
Ali,
Your photo's are lovely. Would you be willing to let me use a few on the Leicestershire Footpath Association website?
Nothing describes the beauty of a walk like a well taken photo!
Regards,
Craig
I would be pleased to let you use them - they were taken a few years ago now. Could you let me know when you use them?
I am a member, though I haven’t been on any of the organised walks - think the LFA do a fabulous job.
Absolutely, the page they will be used on is at the following link;

Thanks very much for letting me use them, they really do convey the beauty of the area.
I’d be thrilled if you could mention my blog too. I’m sure the photos will bring back lots of memories for me too.
