The view on the drive over between Glaston and Wing

Walk with Eddie, Maureen, Norma from Wing to Pilton to Morcott to Glaston to Wing. Break at Morcott.

Tuesday 2nd June 2020, almost 9.30. With Harry. 20 miles. Weather light cloud, then very warm again.

Crossing the Welland near Thorpe by Water

The call of a male cuckoo accompanied us all the way from the Welland to Church Gap in Gretton.

The route, showing a little confusion in Great Easton... next time we'll go the extra mile to somewhere different!

A circuit of the village to check on the tadpoles and the mileage was almost exactly 20 miles. A bowl of cold water for the feet, and a large cup of tea rounded off a splendid day out.

Thursday 06 February. Eight and a half miles. With Maureen, Eddie and Harry. A beautiful frosty morning.




The frost was still on the shady part of Wing Maze.

Uphill to the road above the reservoir.

Through the village of Edith Weston. Along the roads to Lyndon, then the footpath behind the big house with the ha ha, and Lyndon Hall, with a glimpse of the church behind.



A few muddy bits now the ground has thawed.

Back across the railway line and then the uphill pull back to the village of Wing.

With Norma, Maureen and Eddie. A whisker less than 8 miles. Monday 03 February.

Along the road section we saw a flock of long-tailed tits flitting along the hedge row.

Exton, Greetham,Fort Henry

Monday 20 January 2020, with Maureen and Eddie. Almost the same walk as last Monday, with a slight difference towards the end, which makes the walk a little shorter, but more interesting. 7.2 miles, on a cold frosty morning.

At about mile 6, we kept to our left. Last week we took the right hand fork.
