Gretton, Thorpe by Water, Lyddington

Thursday 2nd June

After coffee, we decided to walk over to Lyddington via Thorpe by Water, and heard the cuckoo just as we had crossed the railway line,

and several times as we approached the river. We saw a couple of herons and lots of cows. A brief pause on the usual seat on Thorpe Road.

On the way back via the road we noticed alpacas in a field,

and once again close to the river we heard the cuckoo .

We were delayed by a flock of sheep being herded for shearing…

 About 4.5 miles.
